Founded in 2017 and based in Sydney, WeAreObservers is more than a photography group — it’s a community. We create engaging, hands-on programs, workshops, and creative experiences that inspire photographers to explore, connect, and enjoy observation. Our events are welcoming and practical, blending structured learning with a relaxed social atmosphere. Whether you’re using a traditional camera, a smartphone, or a mix of both, we guide participants through techniques and creative exercises designed to spark curiosity, encourage conversation, and build confidence and consequently build resilience. Our workshops aren’t just about learning — they’re about shared experience, connection with others who have similar interests, and importantly, understanding the photographer's mindset. To experience the pleasure of observation, interpretation, and expression using the camera. 

We also collaborate with festivals, community programs, cultural events, and place-based activations.
